LIFESTYLE - What to do do with so much shoes - Capsule Wardrobe?

You've read my blogpost about cleaning and tiding my closet and have only hold a number of items. All other items I OR sold on the fleamarket in the IJ-halls or delivered to H & M. Yeah , if you want throw or give away some clothes dont do that because you can bring it to H & M because they recycle it and you receive a discountvoucher. Don't immediately go shopping but save the voucher or coupon and use it after 3 months! I''m going to start with with my collection of shoes that I really do not dispose of it as it is necessary. In my mind to do the Capsule Wardrobe it is difficult for me to throw shoes away or to give them away because 33 items in three months including shoes is a hard challence. Which shoes should I hold and which one should I give away or throw away?? First, let me sort out what to do and in a few weeks we look further .

SHOES

In the 90s I therefore started working in the commercial world . My first job was at the carcompany Citroën Netherlands at the Stadionlein in Amsterdam. The company rule was quite informal. Each day wearing a suit and high heels of course. Daily I took the tram and it came along the Beethoven Street (a very expensive but nice and famous street in Amsterdam South) and in the past there were very good shops for clothes and shoes. During that time I 've bought so many designer shoes and clothes but mostly because these terms of quality were much better and longer t wear. Of course I could buy cheap clothes and shoes but the quality is not so good and you can not keep it for years.

In 2014, I discovered that I had in total 70 pairs of shoes !!! From boots to pumps , sandals to loavers. My mind said that's not normal. So I have undertaken a clean-up and only chose certain colors that I used regularly. Why should a woman actually have so many shoes?? And must I leave all of them? I live in a small apartment and have no space to keep them all so I bought large boxes from Ikea with a lid and put all my shoes in this box and immediately close the lid. Oke, that's a kind of ignoring naturally because I want to keep them all but in the meantime I've irritate them. Today I 'm going to do some actions!!

Now I've removed all the shoes from the boxes and placed them in colors. I've put the shoes who are already broken in the container REPAIR/THROW AWAY, the rest of the shoes I selected them and put them in the container HOLD or SELL. Basically the same structure that I used with my wardrobe. The shoes that I want to sell or throwing away I've put them in garbage bags on the on the balcony together with the garbage bags with clothes. Now it becomes pretty full on my balcony but I have no choice because my home is so small to put all the bags in the bedroom or living room.

Items that I hold and how much?

Because of my new job I have to look representative and my look has to be complete with the shoes. So I've took from each color almost every item. I have to choose colors which match my dress/skirts or trousers of course! So the colors black, dark blue, white and beige I wanna wear for the common 3 months. But...I can't do the 333 project. To difficult for me.

1 pair of brown boots
1 pair of gray boots
1 pair of black boots

1 pair of tight black pumps
1 pair of thick beige pumps
1 pair of thick dark blue pumps
1 pair of brown brown pumps

1 pair of open black pumps
1 pair of open beige pumps
1 pair of blue pumps open
1 pair of open brown pumps

1 pair of black , brown and blue moccasins / loavers
1 pair of beige , brown , black , blue and gray ballerinas

I know it does not meet the requirements of the Capsule Wardrobe but allow me a few weeks to think about which shoes I'm going to GIVE away or THROW away.

Do you have the same problem like me? Lots of shoes but you can't get rid of them ? Let me know in a comment below this blog post.

Regards Paula
