I 'm really a travelfan and love spontaneous actions! One of the cool things I have done is travel with the bus from Amsterdam to Scheveningen with the Hop On Hop Off bus stops along sites of these and intermediate cities. How it works? I'll tell you in this blog.
It's a new concept and it's a idea from three companies that cater to tourists who want to visit several cities in one day. Namely Met and Co: a bus company which does a lot of transportation especially around Schiphol , they would launch a Hop On Hop Off bus as we have in Amsterdam but for some sightseeing in the cities Schiphol Airport, Leiden, The Hague and Scheveningen and searched for a partner who is familiar with the incoming tourism. So they came to Holland Ticket Service . HTS is a company for inbound tourism where they are mainly involved in online ticket shops, giving Tourist Information at the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam and in the future they will control the Tourist- and leisure activities at the RAI. For more information about Holland Ticket Service , I refer to the website: www.tickets.holland.com .
Install the app of Hop On Hop Off on your phone and use an earphone. The app (which is in English) takes you along the sights and tells the stories behind each attraction. You will also receive an informationbook in the bus so you can read the information near the app. If you're in the bus the storyteller will tell you about the area where the bus drive along because the app follows the bus (I think using GPS) ... how technically in all honesty I do not know but it is a wonderful invention .
Who are behind this?

How does it work ?
It is actually a bustour where you can step in and go out to enter a museum any time of the day. You keep walking around there for 2 hours and then go to the next trip . You have to make an appointment with the company or with the busdriver on what time they can pick you up to travel further. So preparation is a half the work because you have to make a good plan for yourself. First you go all the way to Scheveningen or you step out on the first stop at Schiphol Airport? That is entirely up to you but you have to discuss this with the company or the busdriver because they work with schedules. Each two -hour there is a bus driving from Amsterdam to Scheveningen and it will bring you straight ahead to the sights.
On www.hollandtourbus.com you can find the schedule and a description of the bus stop locations.

On the website of Holland Ticket Service You can book a ticket for € 25 , = and this ticket is valid for the whole day from 9:00 am until the last ride at 19:00 pm. Therefore I advise you to make your day trip starting at 09.00 o'clock. We started our trip in Amsterdam where we were picked up at the Van Gogh Museum. The bus drove out to the airport (which is also a departure point), then it drove to Leiden where we alighted at the Naturalis museum. In Leiden we have also used the vouchers we've get included with the Holland Pass. A free tour through Leiden. Takes about 50 minutes. In Leiden, you had the choice to visit the various museums and I must tell you ... it's a lot of museums overthere! So take your time as long as you keep in mind that you also want to go to The Hague and Scheveningen .

Leiden
We starting our trip in the afternoon so we only went to the sights of Leiden and we've done very nice things and luckily we had a very nice sunny weather. Below a photo impression.
So far my story about Leiden because in the next blogpost I will show you the city Leiden.
I had a great day with the Hop On Hop Off bus! So if anyone would like to see the mentioned cities and sights like I do, just book this bus because you get to places you normally don't go And surely not in one day. And for € 25,= it's not a lot of money...take the train and you pay more for a whole day. The bus will pick you up and dropped at the desired location. And another thing: they will give you an information book with a card where you can go for free or a little discount to the museaum or canal tour.
Thanks to Britt Blake for this excellent opportunity !
Greetings,
Paula
