Because I am from Indonesian origin and obviously a lover of the Indonesian cuisine, it seemed fun to put a recipe of nasi goreng . Nasi goreng does not need many ingredients as we always used to make this dish of leftovers from the previous day. So when the supermarkets selling vegetables especially for the nasi goreng, I think it is the biggest nonsense that exists because basically you have a super delicious nasi goreng with a very few ingredients needed.
1 cup cooked rice per person ( you calculate 150 to 200 grams per person )
250 gram smoked chicken
1 egg
1 small onion
3 cloves garlic
1 small thin leek
1 bouillionblokje (I used Knor Rundvleesbouillion )
1 pinch trassie (fermented dry shrimp paste available at the Aisan stores)
1 theespoon oyster sauce (available at the Asian stores)
1/2 tablespoon fish sauce (preferably the Thai fish sauce )
1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
2. Cut the leek into thin rings and wash them after that. There can always sand among them.
3. Cut the chicken into thin strips.
4. Put in a wok or large frying pan a teaspoon of oil and allow it to be hot. When a blue smoke starts to come from the pan that means it is really hot and you can immediately fry the onions brown. Then put afther that the garlic in it because it burns faster than the onion.
5. Crumble the bouillionblocks into pieces and add to the onion/garlic mass.
6. Take a pinch of the trassie and fry it well.
7. Then add the strips of smoked chicken breast.
8. Let the past cook for a minute and then add the oyster sauce, fish sauce and soy sauce.
9. Stir because after the leeks added.
10. Now you must add the egg but please note that it is no omelette. Hard turning and stirring so that there are little pieces of egg.
11. Finally, add the cooked rice and stir until all herbs sit in the rice.
12. Taste between stirring of the rice and you can add any oyster sauce or soy sauce for flavor.
13. Serve nasi goreng with fried omelette, krupuk, pickled gherkins and for me a yummy homemade sambal (hot spiced salsa)
Enjoy your meal and you can always send me a mail when you've got questions
